Terms, in plain words
Buy a licence, own that version, use it on your Macs. Everything below is the detail of that promise.
Who we are
Rude Dog is a software business based in the United Kingdom. These terms cover your licence to use the software published at rudedog.dev. Your purchase itself is made from Stripe, which acts as merchant of record and is the seller for that transaction. You can reach us at support@rudedog.dev, and we'll provide our full registered trading details on request.
What you're buying
Our products are macOS applications that run entirely on your Mac. A paid licence is perpetual for the versions it covers: it includes two years of access to new versions from the date of purchase, and every version released inside that window is yours to keep and use indefinitely. When the window closes nothing is taken away — renewing is an optional, separate one-time purchase that re-opens access to new versions. Free tiers ("Lite") are provided as-is and may change.
Licence
A licence is personal to you (or your organisation, if bought on its behalf) and covers the Macs you personally use. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the apps, and you may not reverse-engineer them except where the law expressly permits it. The open-source components inside each app remain under their own licences, listed in the app bundle's third-party notices.
Payment
Checkout and payment are handled by Stripe, our merchant of record — your purchase contract for payment processing is with Stripe, and Stripe's buyer terms apply to the transaction itself. Prices are listed in GBP; local currency and any tax are shown at checkout before you pay.
Refunds
Our refund policy is set out on the billing page. In short: if something's wrong, email us with your receipt and we'll sort it out, with refunds processed back through Stripe.
Accounts
Purchases attach to the email address used at checkout. Signing in with that address unlocks your tools. Keep access to that mailbox — it is how ownership is proven. We may decline or revoke licences obtained fraudulently.
What we promise, and what we don't
We work to make the apps good, safe, and accurately described, and we fix real defects. Beyond what the law requires, the apps are provided without further warranties — we don't promise they'll be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a specific purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms; the version published here applies from its posting. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the software after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you are a consumer elsewhere you keep any mandatory protections of your home country.
